FOUNDATION FOR URBAN AND REGIONAL STUDIES 2014 ESSAY COMPETITION
PRIZE FOR THE BEST ESSAY ON URBAN AND REGIONAL THEMES BY YOUNG AUTHORS
In collaboration with the International Journal of Urban Regional Research and Wiley-Blackwell Publishers, the Foundation for Urban and Regional Studies is organising a seventh international essay competition for the best essay on urban and regional themes by PhD students or scholars who have completed their PhD within a five year period.
A prize of £1,000 will be awarded to the winner. The winning essay will also be published in the International Journal of Urban and Regional Research (IJURR). Since the publication at IJURR is a constitutive part of the prize, only unpublished papers are eligible.
Essays must be written in English, but referees will be informed of the native language of the author. If the winner is a non English speaking author, copy-write will be provided for the article, if necessary.
The essay should be no longer than 7,000 words (including footnotes and bibliography) and be sent with a 500-word maximum summary. Essays exceeding 7,000 words will be automatically excluded.
